SEEING THE SIGHTS OF TORONTO
On Sunday morning after a leisurely breakfast I drove into town to discover that the whole downtown area was gridlocked due to the Toronto Marathon. However I got to St James ' Cathedral in time to join the full Choral Eucharist. A wonderful high church service with amazing music.
In the afternoon I visited the Royal Ontario Museum where I was able to see the Chinese Terracotta Warriors exhibition. This is a truly fascinating display of original figures on loan from China together with an historical depiction of the story of the Qin Dynasty.
I was also able to visit the First Nation exhibition in the museum. An evocative display of artifacts and images that chart the culture and history of the indigenous peoples of Canada.
Late in the afternoon I joined the queues and in the space of 22 seconds went very rapidly in the elevator up the CN Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world. Magnificent views of the city and out over Lake Ontario. A must for any visitor to the city.
